Elijah is 2 yrs old with HLHS and is going in for his 3rd heart surgery on August 6, 2008. Since his family has so many expenses that go along with this surgery, friends and family are doing a Garage Sale fund raiser for him and his family on June 26 - 28. Scott Newport lives in Michigan with his three children and wife, Penni. His son, Evan, now five-years-old, is diagnosed with Noonan's syndrome and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. If Scott had a bumper sticker on his car, it would read: "Proud Parent of a PICU Soldier."

Stephanie Husted is a free-lance poet who has a child with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. She enjoys encouraging other families through the written word. She lives in Michigan with her husband and two sons, Colin and Braeden.
